Update: Vice-President/Grants & Sponsorships Deputy

Hey everyone, just a reminder that the deadline for Vice-President nominations is this Sunday 12th May at 5pm.

We also wanted to let everyone know that following a discussion with committee at the last committee meeting, we’ve decided not to go ahead with the Grants and Sponsorships deputy position. Instead, we’re going to integrate these duties into role of the Vice-President. The Vice-President ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ will be updated to reflect these changes.

This means that on top of their other duties, the VP will be responsible for:

- Establishing and maintaining long-term partnerships with sponsors (especially local outdoor businesses) and building trust

- Regularly communicating with sponsors to discuss expectations and opportunities (eg, donating prizes for MUMC events and providing in-store discounts in exchange for their branding to be displayed on our website/socials/at the event/in the Mountaineer)

- Renewing/signing annual sponsorship agreements with our sponsors (which currently include a few outdoor stores in Melbourne)

- Working with committee and deputies to find grants to apply to, and overseeing the writing of grant applications

- Overseeing the design, purchasing, and distribution of club merchandise (including for club anniversaries)

- When necessary, delegating tasks related to grants, sponsorships, and club merchandise to other committee members (eg, publications officers, general members)
