Standard: Everyone welcome
Meeting: No meeting
This is an extension to the basic knot tying workshop last week, or for anyone who's done some knot work before.
We will be going through some knots in a seminar style workshop, and going through possible uses and applications.
Knots that will be looked at:
- Bends (alpine, EDK, figure 8, double-fisherman's)
- Prussik knots (several variants)
- Alpine butterfly loop
- Bunny Ears
-Gardiner Hitch (rope version)
This will equip you to safely and securely join two ropes together, create a progress capture/saftey back-up for your lines, and create a different progress capturing knot to last week.
After the session I'll be sticking around for the meeting, so you're welcome to bring an rope-related questions, or problems looking for a knot related solution.
All ropes will be provided. Meeting in the library (where the tea is at!), unless there's too many.
A good website for looking at knots is here: http://www.animatedknots.com/
