Cave Creek Traverse

A trip of diversities taking in tall forests to open grassy plains. Narrow canyons and smooth highlands. Walking along management roads then untacked wilderness. Geologies of Limestone, granite, quartz, and more. Constantly changing scenery tucked away in a corner of Kosciuszko national park.

Daily distances up to 20km and 500m elevation gain, but the continuous obstacles will make for long and tiring efforts. There are no tracks for approximately half the distance along with a dozen or so river crossings. Prior experience of multi day bushwalking trips is required.

Departing lunchtime on Thursday for the 8 hour drive. Transport + park fees are $90 per person.

Things there won't be on this trip: mountain tops, campfires, or dry feet.
