Requirements: Overnight hiking with heavy backpack and good at walking long distances...long distance is around 30km one day.
Hey hikers,
I'm keen as always for a good hike, this time I would like to try a new trail for me in the Brisbane Ranges National Park which is close to Melbourne, just 60km from the city. The Burchell trail is 40km long and suppose to take 3 days to finish ... plan is to do this in 2 days, with one long and one short day of walking, starting from Boar Gully camping ground and finishing up at Fridays camping ground.
There's a camping fee to be paid to Park Vic for camping in the national park, cost is $14/campsite/night ... not sure how many tents will fit per site. As soon as I know how many we're on the trip I'll book 2 nights and collect the money from the sign ups later.
First night will be spent at Boar Gully campsite, second night at Old Mill campsite, which gives us at least 30km of walking from camp 1 to camp 2.
If you're interested in coming, please sign up and if you've any questions please email me on
Trip will be limited to 10 people, also need a car shuffle so at least 2 cars on the trip is needed.
