Meeting: Tue, 28 Aug 2012, 7:20 pm
Requirements: Previous caving experience and sufficient demonstrated enthusiasm
Designed as part one of a series of trips to teach cave navigation and generally increase caving skils
This will be a day trip to labertouche with an earlier start than usual depending on everyone's prior experience we'll probably end up doing the cave multiple times in the one day with various people doing the navigating. Over the course of probably 3-4 trips we'll cover basic knots, rigging and anchors cave navigation with and without a map the end result should have you at the level of being able to competently independently caves you are familiar with (ie those we do over the course without a map) and be confident in navigating in unfamilar caves with the aid of a map.
Ideally with a bit of practice you'd be able to lead daytrips when the club heads to the larger caving area's interstate.
Cave Navigation 101-A is an identical trip run 1 week earlier attendence at both not requried for later trips, the later trips will run over the course of the semester exact dates will be arranged once there is sufficent interest to ensure they're viable and will most likely be at Buchan.
