A little bit of walking, a little bit of culture....
'The picturesque coastline between Brighton and Beaumaris offers some of Melbourne's most spectacular walking within easy reach of public transport. There are panoramic views of imposing red cliffs, wide sandy beaches, rocky coves and, of course, miles of sea.'
'Following along this coastline is the Coastal Art Trail, stretching for 17 kilometres between Elwood Beach and Beaumaris. It aims to celebrate the lives and artworks of notable Australian artists who painted here. Featuring more than 50 artworks on signs along the way.'
Update:
I am not able to maket the clubrooms on Tuesday so there will be no trip meeting. You must sign up to come on this trip. Those who have signed up will be sent an email with the meeting time at Sandringham Station (around lunchtime).
We will walk a stretch of this trail in a northerly direction back towards Melbourne from Sandringham. Finishing either at St Kilda or Port Melbourne area depending on how far we want to walk and where we find a convenent tram. Perhaps afternoon tea along the way at a cafe or have a picnic stop.
This trip is open to all (maximum 15 people) as it is easy walking and we will be using public transport.
Bring water, sunscreen, hat, warm clothes if its cool. Wear comfy walking shoes.
