Requirements: None.
We'll be camping, so if you don't have all the right equipment then it can be hired from the club.
If you are new to the club and have no experience camping at all then I would encourage the beginner trip the following week instead.
The plan for this trip is to head to Lake Elizabeth in the Otway National Park and camp for the weekend.
Lake Elizabeth is a lake hidden deep in the dense wet forrest and hilly terrain of Otway National Park. It is a tranquil spot that offers beautiful camping right next a stunning lake inhabitted by numerous platypuses.
There is no difinitive plan of activities at the moment. It really is up to those who come on what will occur, but there is alot possible. There are multiple walks leaving right from the campground and many further nature walks possible in the Ottway National Park. Kayaking on the lake is fanastic and you can follow the nearby walking and MTB trails that lead to local town of Forrest and the micro brewery!
There will likely be cars heading up on Satuday morning and possibly Satuday evening as a few people have other committments.
SUGGESTED SCHEDULE
7:00AM Satuday Leave
9:00AM Arrive and make camp
10:00AM Go walking, kaying, etc....
2:00PM Lunch
4:00PM Go walking, kaying, etc....
7:00PM Dinner (At camp or in town at the micro brewery.)
Sunday
Up to you and the car groups. A few people want to go to the beach and the Great Ocean Road. This seems like a good idea.
