Hi all,
I will be running my first trip to the Grampians to get some bouldering done generally around Andersens wall.
For those who are new to bouldering, bouldering is a form of rock climbing focusing mainly on the moves. The climbs are much shorter, and thus use of rope protection is not required and crash pads are used, making set up much quicker and will allow more time for climbing. The grading system is much harder than rock climbing, where as the easier bouldering climbs v0 is approximately equivalent to a grade 17-18.
The plan will be to leave Friday night, camp at Mt Stapylton campground, and climb at Andersens wall as there are around 25 climbs for all grades v0 throught to v7.
You will need climbing shoes, camping equipment which can all be hired from the club and sort out food with car groups. Numbers will be limited due to amount of crash pads.
