August Metrogaine and Cyclogaine

TBD however we are looking at Bayside or Morning Penninsula

Course

The course has just over 100 question and multiple choice answer checkpoints. With 100 Checkpoints across Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads Rogainers will find few checkpoints with travelling distance of over 1 km. The questions are intended to confirm your visit to the checkpoint and not test your IQ. Our setter is looking for checkpoints at points of interest. Mountain bikes or Hybrid/Adventure bikes are most suitable for this event.

Map

Expect the map to be based on the Melway and reproduced (with their permission) at 1:20,000 which is standard book scale. The Map size TBD with an A4 size scoresheet and double sided A4 question and multiple choice answer sheet. All the street names are included but there are no contour lines.

Scoring

Check point visits are confirmed by answering a question that needs you to visit the location to find the answer. Select the correct answer from the 4 listed. No guessing as multiple wrong answers will score a negative score making it not worth a guess. Record A, B C or D on your score sheet so you will need a black pen. Black is most accurate when scanned for scoring.

Accommodation

This is a Metro event. We do not provide camping at the Hash House for metro events.

Entry

Online Entry will open by 17-Jul. Late date is Wednesday 29 July at 11:59pm.

Event Entry Fees are:

Adults $32,

Junior $21 (under 18) Juniors get free entry when in a team with an adult.

Entered before 11:59pm 7 August 2018, Late fees apply if entering after this date.

 Final Instructions and Start location

Final instructions which includes start location will be available on the VRA home page from Tuesday 4th August.

Team lists included any outstanding payments will also be on the VRA home page from Tuesday 4th August.

Event Indemnity Form to be sign by all team members and handed in at Registration

Our Rogaining rules are no pets allowed at Rogaines either on course or at the Hash House and this applies to this our suburban events.

Event Format:

8:00 am Registration opens for both event and maps issues.

9:45 am Metrogaine Briefing - All Walkers/Runners must attend

10:00 am Metrogaine Start - Collect your score card from the clothes line at 10:00am

10:15 am Cyclogaine Briefing - All cyclists must attend

10:30 am Cyclogaine Start - Collect your score card from the clothes line at 10:30

3:30 pm Cyclogaine Finish

4:00 pm Metrogaine Finish

4:15 pm Approx time of Cyclogaine presentation

4:30 pm Approx time of Metrogaine presentation
