Hello from your paddling leaders!
We are super excited to take you for a paddle during our IntroTrip. Goulburn river is grade 2 (on a scale 1-6, 1 standing for a super easy waves, 6 almost certain death). No need to worry on Goulburn, there are only two straightforward & fun grade 2 rapids (pumpkins and blue gums) and you'll be under wings of our experienced raft guides who have paddled this section of the river before and are familiar with all of its features. However, it is always good to be aware of some essential 'to-do' and 'not-to-do' things while being on river, which is why I introduced this prerequisite. This is a theory session, but I plan on showing you also some awesome video from our whitewater training courses for illustration.
What will be covered:
- Swiftwater hydrology basics
- Hazard identification
- Whitewater swimming techniques and self-rescue
- Personal protective equipment
- River signals
Come along, bring a friend. This evening is open to people from any of the uni clubs that do whitewater.
If you have any queries then feel free to contact me via email () or phone 0423532036.
