Beginner whitewater trip on Warrandyte section of the Yarra together with RMIT Outdoors Club.
If you want to go on this trip you will have to have attended one of the Intro to kayaking sessions and know how to perform a wet exit at a minimum, and be able to swim at least 50m in strong currents.
Spaces will be limited based on the ability to transport kayaks there. If you have roof racks/tow bar or are willing to use soft racks to help transport kayaks then please put that in the trip comments.
We can arrange for gear before leaving the clubrooms on Monday morning.
Gear list:
- wetsuit/thermals if you feel the cold (absolutely no cotton)
- wetsuit boots or old shoes to wear in the water (closed-toed full coverage)
- A dry change of clothes and towel for the end of the day
- Water Bottle
- snacks
- kayak, paddle, helmet, PFD, and spraydeck (we can hire it out at the clubrooms).
If you have any questions please let me know
Cheers,
Aadi
