Inter-Uni Mitchell Trip

It returns!

The annual (Pandemic years excluded) inter-uni trip to the Mitchell River will be back in 2022. 

For over 30 years Monash, Melbourne and La Trobe (with the occasional tag along) have spent a social weekend in the middle of September/October in Gippsland on the white water mecca aka the Mitchell River. The weekend is spent rafting, kayaking, and pirating with various kinds of boat race.

Kayakers need to be able to t-rescue competently at a minimum. Some kayakers will be asked to portage 2-3 rapids, using the kayaking skills chart as a guide.

Preference for rafting will be given to people with prior experience in whitewater.

 If you are hesitant to kayak, sign up for rafting.

Please note people will be preferences based on whitewater experience and when they expressed interest. 

We will be leaving Friday (multiple times) and car camping for the weekend.
