Standard: Everyone welcome
Meeting: Tue, 25 Oct 2022, 7:00 pm
****Make sure to attend the meeting on Tuesday even if you are on the waitlist since spots do open up for most trips on Tuesday during the meeting due to more car/leader availability or someone on the confirmed list not showing up.****
***Participants will be limited based on the availability of kayak transport***
The plan is to go to Lysterfield Park Lake.
We will be teaching Beginner skills and wet exits for those of you that haven't done much paddling before. Beginners welcome :). We will be going over basic kayaking skills so that you know how to safely participate in future paddling trips - however it will mean that if you haven't done it before then you will have to practise capsizing.
This will be a great opportunity for anyone who hasn't done any kayaking to try it out in some calm, enclosed waters, and start to learn some basic skills, and potentially practise some self/assisted recovery techniques, so you will be getting dunked at some stage during the day. Learning these skills is necessary to be able to safely participate in any club kayaking trips.
Spaces will be capped at 6 participants but may be further limited based on the availability of kayak transport. If you want to go on this trip you will have to be able to swim at least 50m.
