Finally, the Burnley Bouldering Walls, that integral icon of inner Melbourne rock climbing infrastructure is open for access (as far as I can tell from Chockstone forums, I haven't been down yet to see it for myself).
For those who have not seen it, the bouldering walls consist of a vertical, 30 degree overhanging and 45 degree overhanging wall, with lots of good problems which range from easy to ridiculous. The walls are just off the yarra bike trail about 3 km from the city and are near the Burnley train station.
A map can be found here: http://www.chockstone.org/Melbourne/BurnleyGuidebook.pdf
(but the problems will be different).
Anyway, to celebrate, wouldn't it be lovely to bring down your climbing shoes and chalk and have a bash at the new problems and then follow it up with a picnic/bbq down by the Yarra this Sunday afternoon.
