Oh, have we got a good one for you!

Embark on a captivating journey through Victoria's scenic wilderness with the Beeripmo Walk. This 2-night hike offers a blend of peaceful forests, stunning vistas, and enriching experiences in nature. The adventure begins with a leisurely drive to Richards Campground, followed by a moderate hike to Beeripmo Campground, immersing you in the heart of Mt. Cole State Forest and Mt. Buangor State Park. As you traverse these ancient lands, we acknowledge the deep and continuing connection of the Eastern Maar Peoples, the traditional custodians of this land. Known to the local Beeripmo balug people as “Beereep-Beereep,” meaning "wild mount," this trail offers a profound connection to the rich cultural heritage and enduring spirit of the land. Witness the diversity of Australian landscapes and hang out with other lovely OXOs under starlit skies. Join us for an unforgettable exploration of natural beauty and tranquility.

Friday 2nd of February | Richards Campground | 2hrs driving

Our adventure begins with a scenic drive to Richards Campground, located in a stunning native forest. No hiking is required on this day, providing ample time to explore the cute country towns like Ballarat and Beaufort en route. The campground, equipped with a large shelter, toilets, and picnic tables, offers a comfortable setting for our first night. Here, connect with nature and fellow hikers under the Australian sky.

Saturday 3rd of February | Beeripmo Campground | 8.8kms, 512m elevation gain

Prepare for a day of moderate hiking through diverse landscapes. The trail to Beeripmo Campground is immersed in the beauty of Mt. Cole State Forest and Mt. Buangor State Park. You'll wander through cool fern gullies and alpine plateaus, resting to take in stunning views. We put on the bulk of the elevation today, so tomorrow will be much easier, even though it is a little bit longer. The campground provides basic amenities, including rain water tanks and a pit toilet. Be prepared to treat the water as the on-site water is not treated.

Sunday 4th of February | hike out | 12.2kms, 100m elevation gain

As dawn breaks on the final day, prepare yourself for an invigorating 13 km trek back to where it all began. This last stretch of the Beeripmo Walk is nothing short of spectacular, offering panoramic views and a deeper connection with the Australian bush.

The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the ascent to Mt. Buangor. Here, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas that span across the vast landscapes of Victoria. The panoramic views from this vantage point encompass the rugged beauty of the region, allowing you to see far into the distance, where the lines of nature and sky converge.

As you make your way through the varied terrain, each step brings new sights and sounds. The trail weaves through majestic forests and open grasslands, offering a kaleidoscope of colors and textures. The native flora and fauna provide a constant reminder of the natural richness of this land.

As we make our way back to the MUMC clubrooms, we carry with us the spirit of the Beeripmo Walk - a spirit of adventure, respect for nature, and an appreciation for the lands of the Eastern Maar Peoples.
