Grampians by night

A different side to the Grampians for the more energetic among us. Saturday will be filled with an extended day walk of 25-30km closing at sunset atop one of the larger peaks. Avoiding the popular areas and going the long way around.

Camping will be at the cars and all the luxuries that affords, helping to recover from the extensive elevation changes totalling 1500m+ on top of the long distances. Although close to Melbourne the climate is radically different, expect overnight temperatures below freezing at this time of the year and cool days.

All participants will need (head)torches as the walk concludes in darkness, but other necessary equipment can be hired from the club as needed. The tracks can be overgrown and there are sections with exposure so you'll need to be comfortable with such wild environments.

Transport by car, $40 per person. Returning at a sensible hour on Sunday morning to Melbourne.
