Bogong Staircase step by step

Off to the highest mountains in Victoria before the snow arrives for the season and the difficulty shoots up. What can be done as a single day epic will be spread out across 3 days of more relaxed pace looping around the walking tracks.

Along the heavily trafficked paths we are unlikely to see much wildlife, but the views extend outward off the steep slopes. Climbing up above the tree line passes through cliffs and open sections of exposure needing a head for heights. Geography/topology available online:

All participants will need headlamps as the walk starts in darkness, but other necessary equipment can be hired from the club as needed. Snow is unlikely but a possible hazard in the unpredictable alpine environment.

Transport by car, $50 per person. Departing Friday afternoon and returning after lunch on Sunday to Melbourne.
