Kangaroo Hoppet

Hey everyone,

I am considering taking part in the Australian Birkbeiner 21km race, which takes place as part of the Kangaroo Hoppet, and am seeing if anyone else is interested so that we can sign up as MUMC and perhaps even organise a trip around it.

So what even is a Hoppet?

The Kangaroo Hoppet is a yearly Cross-Country Ski Race that happens at Falls Creek, and is the first event for the year of the Worldloppet circuit. The actual Hoppet is 42km in length, with actual Olympic medalists often winning. If that sounds too hard for you, there is also the 21km Australian Birkbeiner, or 7km Joey Hoppet.

Sign ups and what to do?

Currently I am planning on heading up independently and staying with some friends who live at Mt Beauty. If you are interested in competing, fill out the EOI and sort out transport (VLINE) and accommodation for the weekend. Id recommend staying at Mt Beauty. If we get enough people wanting to compete, then an actual trip can be organised with transport and accommodation options (probably camping somewhere).
