Violet Town to Tallarook Bikepacking

Come along for a great view and ride, with a coffee to compliment the scenery.

Trip Requirements

• Have a roadworthy bike with at least 30mm tyres
• Be able to pack all of your overnight gear onto your bike (you can hire some MUMC bikepacking gear to help you)
• Watch a youtube video on replacing a punctured tube (and have a spare tube)

Map

Day One: Violet Town to Yarck (66km, 430m elevation)

• Catch the 7:07 Vline service from Southern Cross to Violet Town, arriving at 9:07
• Stop for lunch and coffee in Strathboogie after 30km of riding
• Begin a lovely descent to Yarck, setting up camp in the mid afternoon before retiring to the pub for dinner

Day Two: Yarck to Tallarook (66km, 120m elevation)

• Pack up camp and begin riding by 9:00am
• Stop in Yea for lunch around 11:30am
• Continue to Tallarook, hopefully catching the 2:11 service back to Southern Cross Station
