Canoe Polo Spring/Summer Training

Hi everyone,

For anyone who has played at least a season of polo, VYPA will be running development training sessions on Wednesdays from 6-7:30PM and Sundays from 3-5PM every week at Fairfield Canoe Club on the Yarra. You'll be able to play polo, practice kayaking skills and have fun in scratch matches in a social atmosphere.

For beginner/intermediate level players, these sessions will be great opportunities to solidify fundamentals and take your game to the next level with plenty of different competitions coming all over Australia starting with the first round of the National Summer Series in Melbourne on Nov 30/Dec 1, culminating with the national championships on the Gold Coast next year in April.

You will need a membership with Paddle Australia to join in on these sessions as they will be covering insurance and other fees, not MUMC.

Prices are $100 for 2x sessions a week and $60 for 1x session a week. If you have a membership with Fairfield Canoe Club, these sessions will be free. If you pick 1x session a week you'll be able to pick and choose if you want to do the Wednesday or Sunday session.

A full set of polo gear can be hired out from MUMC for 3-month periods, which will guarantee that you'll always have gear that fits you and that you can take home if you're interested in practicing at other times. Please talk to myself or Avryl and we'll be able to help you out if you're interested. Otherwise, there should be gear at Fairfield that you'll be able to use for free.
