Intro to kayaking @ Lysterfield

Hey everyone,

This is a trip for anyone looking to get in a kayak for the first time and cover the novice skills featured in the MUMC kayaking skills checklist.

The aim will be to leave relatively early on Saturday morning for Lysterfield and to be back to the clubrooms early in the afternoon with all gear packed away.

For this trip, the only pre-requisite will be your ability to swim.

Gear that you'll need (anything you don't have can be hired from the gear store):

• kayak
• paddle
• spray deck
• PFD (personal flotation device)
• shoes to wear in the boat (ie. you're okay getting wet)
• clothes to keep you warm and can get wet (ie. rashie and thermals / no cotton - wet suits and cags can be hired from the gear store)
• dry change of clothes and a towel
• sunscreen, water + snacks if you want
