Paddle Victoria are running a Flatwater Skills Training at Westerfolds Park in Templestowe later this month.
This course is an opportunity to begin learning the prerequisite skills for the guide level course, and is a good way to build individual paddling skills.
"Holders of the Flatwater Skills Qualification have demonstrated that they can competently paddle during a trip, as part of a group of peers, on flat, sheltered and/or undemanding water. Designed for those paddlers that seek to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to safely and competently undertake a journey without Guide or instructor supervision" - Paddle Australia
Further information about the Flatwater Skills Qualification can be found here: https://paddle.org.au/education-safety/flatwater-awards/#1621559861651-a14a2a0f-a355

NOTE: This is an externally run event that is not affiliated with MUMC. This course does not contain the skills required to be a paddling leader in MUMC, instead focusing on individual paddling skills.
