Ringed at distance by the developed tourist facilities of Kosciusko National Park is the highest peak in Australia outside the main range, Mt Jagungal.

Taking in the alpine plains over 3 nights of walk in camping across the wilderness region this trip is walking on half management trails (adjoining the Grey Mare Trail) and half off track across open grassland.

Depending with the weather on the day various options are available ruling out any sufferfest or type 2 fun, but the exposed environment and alpine climate require preparation for snow. Less than 20km and 1000m elevation gain per day make it accessible for most people, but prior experience carrying your full pack weight all day long are necessary.

A 6+ hour drive each way plus permits should put transport costs around $100 per person. Payment required in advance of the trip.
