Biggest cross country ski race in the Southern Hemisphere; a spectacular tour of the Australian High Plains around Falls Creek.

There are 3 different races on the Saturday: 42km Kangaroo Hoppet, 21km Australian Birkebeiner, 7km Joey Hoppet. You don't need to be competitive to enter the race. The 7km event would be doable with the skis the club hires out but I recommend hiring out or getting access to some non metal-edged skating or classic skis for a more enjoyable experience. We had a group of 10 or so last year do a mix of all the different events.

The 7km event is for anyone who has been on skis before and the 21km would be fine for experienced skiers or quite fit people, 42km if you've trained up and want a challenge.

Sunday can be either a x/c ski day to work on trail skiing technique or hire some downhill/club tele gear and hit up the resort.

Accommodation will probably be in tents at a caravan park in Mt Beauty/Tawonga at the base of the mountain for shower access.

Costs will be 30/45/60 for race entry before June 30th, ~$60 fuel/resort entry, ~$30 camping fees + whatever hire costs for the gear you want.
