Rogaines are bushwalking races. A bunch of flags, called controls, are placed around a course in the bush, and their locations marked on a map. We compete in teams of 2 to 4 people. Each team is given a copy of the map, then the clock starts, and the winner is whoever walks past the most controls in six hours. Cyclogaines are similar, except that we're allowed to ride bikes.
The first rogaine of the season will be a gentle introduction. The course will run through the town of Werribee, and the map will be copied from the street directory. It's a chance to meet the club members, try some navigation, and retire to a coffee shop to figure out where you went wrong.
The trip meeting will be the second Tuesday before the rogaine, so that we can form teams in time to avoid late entry fees. There's a train to Werribee. If you need transport for a bike, please post a message below well before the trip meeting.
